Chalton Lower School – The School Day
The day is divided into two sessions:

| 8.55am – 12.00pm | 1.00pm- 3.20pm |
Our school week consists of a total of 32hrs 30mins.
The timings of the school day are as follows:
| 8:40am – 8:55am | Gates Open. The children arrive and go straight into class. |
| 8:55am-9:00am | Gates close at 8:55am. Registration for the children. |
| 9:00am-9:20am | Assembly |
| 9:20am-9:25am | Morning run/walk |
| 9:25am-10:30am | Lesson time |
| 10:30am-10:50am | Playtime |
| 10:50am-12:00pm | Lesson time |
| 12:00pm-1:00pm | Lunchtime (KS2 12:10pm) |
| 1:00pm-1:05pm | Afternoon registration |
| 1:05pm-2:00pm | Lesson time |
| 2:00pm-2:10pm | Afternoon playtime |
| 2:10pm-3:20pm | Lesson time |
| 3:20pm | End of the day – children dismissed |
The End of the School Day
Children are dismissed at 3.20pm. They are released to their parents/carer outside their classrooms. If parents are not waiting children will go to the office and wait with an adult until they are collected. Children must be collected by an adult known to the staff.
Please inform the office manager if a different adult is collecting your child on a particular day. If you have a regular arrangement for another adult i.e. child minder, grandparent to collect your child please ask the office manager for a child collection form.
